Day 54 – Looking into the “GE/GMO”argument

Eat.

We can learn recipes and ways of preparing food, but do we really look into what is happening to food before we even bring it into the kitchen?

I have relatives who are farmers. Some who go the organic/non GMO/all natural route, and some who believe the ground can heal and use large amounts of pesticides and have experimented with GE/GMO seeds for their resilience. Our family has never really talked through both sides, it’s just a known fact that there are two very different thoughts within our farming family members.

Between family connections and needing to study the subject in one of my courses, I decided to look into genetic modification.

Below are a few articles on totally different points of view. I’m not going to say which is right or not, we all have brains and opinions and can come to our own conclusions, I just wanted to open a conversation.

Going back to a previous post, may we all learn to see both sides to issues, regardless of where we stand.

I hope this helps everyone look at their food from a “field to table” perspective, rather than just a store/farmer’s market to table thought process.
